Sustainability
Sustainability is not only a key value for RWG, but for the port of Rotterdam as well. This is hardly surprising: a healthy future for the harbour is inextricably linked to a healthy environment. Therefore, during the entire construction process of Maasvlakte 2, great importance is given to the aspect of sustainability.
Commitment
Hans Smits, CEO of the port of Rotterdam: “In terms of the terminal’s pollution, as well as the modal split, we have strict agreements, which, to our knowledge, surpass those of any other European terminal. The new port area, therefore, will definitely be sustainable.”
Economical, Ecological and Social
For all companies setting up business on Maasvlakte 2 - including RWG - the ecological and social aspects weigh just as heavily are just as important as the economical ones. We believe that economic growth should never be at the cost of a healthy environment. The effects that the construction of Maasvlakte 2 has on the surrounding flora and fauna will therefore be fully compensated.
